A study published in The Journal of Sex Research in 2009 states that a number of the male population who thinks overweight women attractive also finds women in different ranges of body sizes sexy. The study implies that these men have a wider perception of attractiveness than other men do.
The research was conducted by doing an experiment on two groups of men- those who were found at Fat Admirers events, and those who do not identify with the subculture. The men were asked to rate black-and-white photographs of 10 female body types and were asked which figure they desired the most.
The study shows that the FAs considered a wider range of female figures to be attractive- from women who are considered to be overweight to those who are considered to be underweight.
